LEARN MORE ABOUT PETALUMA, AND BEYOND WITH THE HOTEL PETALUMA BLOG
Petaluma, California is a beautiful city that is located in Sonoma County that is known for featuring several historic landmarks and many beautiful parks. This city is full of historical value, and there are an abundance of museums and historic sites to confirm this fact. The Petaluma Arts Center stands to commemorate the tradition of local and national art styles in the city, while also hosting exhibitions and providing a place for locals to market their artwork.
About the Petaluma Arts Center
The Petaluma Arts Center began first in 1998 with the Petaluma Arts Council. It wasn’t until 2008 that the center was officially established in the 4,500 square foot building it is currently located in. The goal of this organization is to create awareness of the arts and to provide a space to learn more about the educational advantages of learning about the arts. These educational opportunities are provided to people of all ages.
The exhibition that is currently being held at the Petaluma Art Center is the Sonoma Wildfires Exhibition. This specific exhibit focuses on artwork representing how the recent fires in California affected the residents in the area in beautiful works of art. These pieces reflect both how the artists feel about these recent disasters, while also praising the local fire departments for fighting these fires so valiantly. There are also several future exhibitions planned in advance at the Petaluma Arts Center, and more information on them can be found here.
This establishment also hosts events, such as: “Renewal through Art”, Artists’ Stories of Tragedy and Renewal, the Artbus, Oliver Ranch, and plenty more. The Artbus, the Ideal Lounge, and the Look Club are all organizations that host frequent events on behalf of the Petaluma Arts Council and create excursions and places where visitors and local artists can band together in a community and learn more about the Petaluma Art culture, or even each other. More information on these events can be found here.
Located adjacent to the Petaluma Visitors Center, the Petaluma Arts Center is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. General admission is $5 per adult, but prices may vary depending on age, military activity, and other particularities. More information on admission prices can be found here.
